Being an entrepreneur, solopreneur, mompreneur- whatever you want to call yourself- is the most exhilarating journey, yet one in which we can easily feel overwhelmed, frustrated and depleted. The big plummets are only fun if you’re on a real roller coaster and not when you are trying to steadily plan and accomplish goals in your business. Yet looking at your “to do” list that only grows as each day turns into the next can cause your mojo to run low, especially if you are your main support system.
Here are a few tips to keep your energy high:
Take small steps. Though you may have the big picture of what you want mapped out, make sure your daily “to do” list is appropriate whether you are still working at your day job or have already launched into entrepreneurship. If you find yourself constantly shifting tasks to the next day, you need to revise your daily goals into smaller chunks.
Revise your plan. Have a meeting with yourself (or business partners if you have them) for 20 minutes each day and discuss what’s working and what isn’t. If you don’t acknowledge it, you can’t fix it. Every plan needs revising. You live and you learn, in business as in life.
Call in the experts. Do what you know well or can learn easily and let others do the rest. If you’re not a technical person, leave website design to someone else. If you’re not a sales person, hire a content writer. You need all the time you have to do what you do best.
Talk to other entrepreneurs. They will know exactly how you feel! They’ve either been there before or will be in the future.
Celebrate your accomplishments. Take time each day to reflect on obstacles you obliterated and goals you achieved. Do your happy dance.
Minor frustration is inevitable but feeling overwhelmed is not. These steps have helped me, hopefully they help you too!
