The Method, The Upcoming Book and The Way of Life…
What it is and what it’s not….
I talk about “Get What You Want” a lot. Bits of it show up in my blog posts, articles, memes and it’s my hashtag on everything. Many of you may know I’m writing a book about it, Get What You Want-The Mindset. A few of you may know it all started with a lesson handed to me by a 12-year-old in a McDonald’s drive-thru.
Because most of you don’t know me personally, I feel I must clarify what Get What You Want is NOT. Get What You Want NEVER comes at the expense of anyone else. Creating a life you love doesn’t arrive through harming, taking advantage of, manipulating or diminishing anyone or anything. It isn’t narcissistic. In fact, those things are completely 100% contrary to my philosophy of compassion and helping my fellow humans, animals and the planet.
Get What You Want is about being the version of yourself you can be in love with, living a joyous life so that you can be the best role model, humanitarian, employee, boss, friend, mother, father, and partner. And having a laugh or two along the way.
Get What You Want-The Mindset, the method I developed to teach you how to get what you want is a 3-part equation, that, if you do the steps, will reliably produce the results you want, the way 2+2+2=6.
Get Clear – discovering who you are, what you want and why you want it
Get Real – talking about where you are now vs. where you want to be
Get Going – consistent, focused small steps that get your passion from your head and heart into your everyday life
If you do the work, it works every time.
Get What You Want-The Mindset and getting what you want using this method is about becoming the “you” your role models will want to hang out with, doing work that is inspired by your skills, loves, and passion, and having relationships that lift you up and light you up. It’s about knowing and living in your self-worth.
Merriam-Webster defines self-worth as:
A feeling that you are a good person who deserves to be treated with respect.
Get What You Want-The Mindset documents my sometimes dark, often humorous, occasionally sarcastic, always grateful reflections on the journey to a life I ridiculously love, which continues today, mixed with a smattering of really cool stuff I learned from many teachers- formal and informal- along the way.
If you aren’t smiling so often people wonder what you’re up to…
Let’s create a life you ridiculously love.
