Leaders understand that they’re in charge of making things happen. If they don’t like something, they change it. Simple as that.
As a leader, you understand that you call the shots. You ask questions and get answers. You support others because you are supported. Everyone else (your attorney, accountant, boss, coworkers, partner, friends) all support your goals. You teach them how to treat you. If they aren’t treating you as you’ve requested, let them go.
Life is a business. Do an even better job with yourself and your life (your dreams) than you do at your job. Stop being so emotional. Ditch the wishy-washy. Be super clear about what you want to be, do and have. Know your goals. Give yourself deadlines.
Stop wallowing in whatever shows up and what hasn’t worked out. Fuck the relentless pursuit of fair. Here’s the deal. Not everything in life is fair. You know who cares about fair? Bit players in life care about fair.
Leaders don’t spend any time in the misguided pursuit of fairness, lingering in perceived failures and mistakes, or ruminating about what they don’t have.
Leaders focus on what they want. And that takes all their time.
If you don’t have relationships you absolutely love from every angle, a job or business that sets your soul on fire, and a “you” you fucking adore…
Change one thing or everything. Be the leader. You are your fairy godmother.
